John Madden, one of the most influential and well known figures in all of football thanks to his 30 years in the booth and his Madden Football video game franchise, has announced his retirement so he can spend more time with his grand kids.
While I'm still disappointed that we won't be hearing that voice talking about Brett Favre anymore, I'm glad he will get to enjoy a care-free life now, getting to be around people he knows and loves whenever he wants.
